Why did I wait so long to do this????? Jim Cooper at Duvall Fitness is an amazing trainer and Diane Zakrajsek is a wonderful Dietitian! Love Duvall Fitness!

One that I am hoping will inspire others. I am on a journey to fitness. My workouts, especially since I’ve had kids, have not been a priority in my life. The sad thing is, they should have been. You only have ONE body. You need to take care of it. I learned three key things from Diane, Jim and Jeff at Duvall Fitness this week, and I want to share them with you.
From Diane Zakrjsek…The scale is not a good measure of your health! For me, this is so true! I have never really been over weight but lack of consistent exercise over the past several years and especially this past year, has left me NOT heart healthy. Plus, I need to be a better example for my kids by eating better and exercising more.
From Jim Cooper…
One of my favorite strength coaches, Mike Boyle, said that if you got a car for your 16th birthday and were told that it was the ONLY car you would ever get in your life, EVER, you would take very, very good care of that car. You could get some spare parts and repairs but they would never be as good as the original. You would treat that car as if your life depended on it: the best gas, regular tune-ups and maintenance, cautious use, no crazy stunts, plenty of good solid use and plenty of “rest”. That car is our bodies. We never get another one. We need to use it but take care of it and not abuse it because we never get another one. Spare parts and repair, sure but never as good as the original.
From Jeff Wolf…
Jeff compared my overall health and fitness to a three legged stool. You need all three of these for long term success. Commitment, Fitness and Nutrition!
I am embarrassed that I have let myself get to this fitness level. But, I am SO inspired by all the people in our community who have become an inspiration to me by reaching their fitness goals and maintaining them. Thank you Susan, Farrah, Kathy, Jenn, Carissa, Jamie, Cathy, just to name a few. If I can inspire others then that will be my Random Act of Kindness to you! Let the JOURNEY BEGIN…Connie’s Journey to become Fit For Life! Sorry for the long post!
